Cason Thorsby, Dixie Dave’s Wild Game Soups & Liquid Innovations

Cason Thorsby is not your typical 24-year-old. As a young entrepreneur, he brings a lot to the table – and to the dinner table.

Originally from Davison, Mich., Thorsby received his bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship from Central Michigan University in May of 2008.

Aside from his day job where he teaches students at CMU about entrepreneurship, Thorsby is the founder and chief marketing officer for Dixie Dave’s Wild Game Soups. The company produces ultra-healthy soups with a tasty recipe made by Dixie Dave, a celebrity chef.

Thorsby thought of the concept for Dixie Dave’s as a sophomore in college. After winning the Make-a-Pitch contest at CMU, he decided to move forward with the idea.

Dixie Dave’s soups are made with free range game and are 40 percent lower in sodium than the leading soup. Thorsby said he believes the soup’s healthy recipe will make it a best seller to health-conscious people.

“This soup is the cat’s meow. It’s the real deal,” said Thorsby.

Upon its release in fall 2010, you might find the soup in places like mainstream supermarkets, Whole Foods or Cabellas.

He also has something else up his sleeve. Thorsby owns Liquid Innovations, a company producing Party Armor, a hangover preventative in the form of a two-ounce shot. The product promises to knick the worst of hangovers by replenishing your body with vitamins and other essentials you may have lost while drinking.

With its clever name and all-natural formula, this hangover cure is sure to be popular with college students everywhere. Party Armor is expected to launch in Mount Pleasant, Mich. in Fall 2010.

“I don’t sleep a lot,” Thorsby joked. “I want to do a lot of big things. I want to do what I’m good at and that is starting a business. It’s a passion.”
