Not enough drama in your life already? Check out the many plays being performed throughout the area over the next few weeks.
Here’s a round-up of our best bets:
- Chicago’s Improvised Shakespeare Company comes to Alma College for a night of improv comedy at 8 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Remick Heritage Center. Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for seniors. Call 989-463-7304.
- Enjoy the time-honored Shakespeare play, “Romeo and Juliet” featuring actors from The London Stage at the Midland Center for the Arts. Three performances run Feb. 4, 5 and 6 starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults; $15 for students. Available online here or by calling 800-523-7649.
- Two plays for the price of one! Experience an evening in the macabre as two men face their existential fate two generations apart with two plays,”The Dumb Waiter,” a play about two professional killers waiting for orders, and”Vortex,” featuring a mysterious shaman and a desperate gunman who meet on the top of a mesa in Sedona, Ariz. Performances take place in Central Michigan University’s Moore Hall in the Theatre-on-the-Side. Contains strong adult language and violence. Performances run Jan. 28-31 and Feb. 4-7.
